Win fabulous prizes by carrying ridiculously large things on your bike!
Utility bicycles can be used to carry almost anything – groceries (beer!), items for work, furniture, cars, you name it!
With summer starting wind down, we here are AustinBikeBlog would like to pep things up a bit with our What’s the biggest thing you’ve carried on your bike? Photo Contest.
Between now and the end of September, we are asking you to submit pictures of you, your bike, and the largest load you’ve carried on your bike. Each Monday between now and September 29, we will publish a semifinalist (so you can get a jump on the competition!) and will ask for you to vote on the best photo the first week of October.
The top three winners of this contest will win the following prizes:
1st Place: Honey Brooks B-17 Saddle

2nd Place: Copy of City Cycling by Richard Ballantine
3rd Place: 24oz White Polar Bottle

Contest Rules:
- Submit your photos to Marcus at AustinBikeBlog. Please include your first name and your city. We will include this information if you are a semifinalist or finalist.
- Photos much be submitted between August 20 and midnight CST on September 30, 2008.
- Submitted photos must be photos taken of you or by you (no stock photos or photos grabbed from the internet.)
- The editors of AustinBikeBlog will pick the semifinalist from submitted photos.
- Voting on finalists will begin October 1, 2008 and end at midnight CST on October 7, 2008. Winners will be announced on October 8 and will be determined by the recipient of the most eligible votes with the editors of AustinBikeBlog breaking any tie votes.
- In order for votes on finalists to be counted, voters must include their e-mail address when voting. One vote for each unique address.
- We will only ship prizes to addresses in the United States or Canada.
- This contest is void where prohibited by law.
OK, now that we’ve got the rules and legal stuff out of the way, let’s see your pictures! We’ll post the first set of semifinalists on Monday, August 25.

Neat photo, but technically that’s not a bicycle – it’s a tricycle, and with three wheels carrying a car body is not all that impressive.
