Some practical beginner tips from the Chicago Bike Blog

The Chicago Bike Blog has some very good practical commuter tips for people who are just starting out, only mildly interested in bicycle commuting, or just curious. I thought these were great and really looked at things from a bit of a different angle than we have previously covered in our “Getting Started” section.

Lucky for new cyclists, Chicago is a bit flatter than Austin. Here, anytime you are heading north, south, or west of downtown, you’re climbing a hill… or several.

Edit: The environmental site Grist also has a very good page on getting started with commuting.
