Time for Austin Bike Blog readers to vote in our contest

For the last 6 weeks, Austin Bike Blog has called for entries in our “What’s the biggest thing you’ve carried on your bike?” Contest. We got a lot of great submissions which we’ve share with you each week. For some reason people named Mark really like to haul things on their bikes.

Now is the time when you, the Austin Bike Blog reader, get to help determine who will win our fabulous contest prizes. Below are our 10 finalists for your review. Please take a look and tell us which finalist is the most impressive display of hauling a load on their bike. Some hauled items with a trailer, some with a third wheel, and some by just strapping their load to their bike. You be the judge of which feat is the most impressive.

How to Vote

To voice your vote, please e-mail us the single best entry with either your chosen finalist’s number or name. Feel free to try to sway the vote with your impassioned arguments posted in in our comments section below. The finalist with the most votes will receive our grand prize with second and third going to the next top vote getters. Marcus and I will break any ties.

Voting is limited to one vote per unique e-mail address, and your vote is due by midnight CST on Tuesday, October 7, 2008.

The photo is deceptive. It doesn’t show the mini-grand piano and kegerator on the far side of that queen size mattress.

Entry #1 definitely wins. DUAL axle trailer?? WTF!

The string bass entry is winner for style though.

I’m feeling it for #9. that couch is cantilevered out pretty far. someone has to be holding that bike down. 1 is great, but it’s a parade. I mean, I really am impressed with that, piano and all. I guess I wanted to show some love to the spontaneous bike hauler, who has to think fast to bring home the curbside treasure. fun contest. I’d like to see all the entries.

#4 The guy with the kayak looks like he has used a kids seat. I like the thought being put into “How can I get this somewhere?”. Who needs a car? The country needs more canals like austin.

Darn, I missed the voting but at least I made the finals.
Would it have mattered if I said the hot water tank was full?
It wasn’t but I still could have hauled it =)
