Tour de Fat stopping in Austin again Saturday, October 18

The Tour de Fat, New Belgium Brewing’s family friendly cycling advocacy festival, will be stopping again in Austin on Saturday, October 18 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Fiesta Gardens (map). Festival goers are strongly encouraged to come by bike. All proceeds will benefit local bike non-profits Austin Yellow Bike ProjectAustin Cycling Association and Austin Ridge Riders.

Highlights of this festival not to be missed include the Bike Parade starting at 10 a.m. (parade registration 9- 10 a.m.) The Tour de Fat will also be giving away a utility bike with a trailer to a lucky winner of their Bike Trade contest to the person selected who is willing to trade their car for a bike. Pretty cool, eh?

A few side notes: children are welcome but pets are not and no outside alcohol is allowed. Admission is free.

I plan to be there barring a National Championship determining football game that might be scheduled at the same time between Texas and Missouri.
