Pedaling with joy again

Today, I rode my bike for the first time in nearly a week. This absence was not by choice, I assure you. Last Wednesday and Thursday, I began suffering extreme headaches while riding of the sort that I’ve never experienced. At one point, it got so bad I had to dismount and walk the rest of the way to my destination. For those of you who know me, the pain has to be up there with giving birth for me to stop riding.

Upon discussion with my brother who is an urgent care physician, I decided to stop riding until we could figure this thing out. So I was delighted to hear last night my MRI came back normal, and it appears this was simply a migraine headache.

This morning’s ride was beautiful. It may have been the clear and cool but not cold, central Texas autumn weather or the realization I don’t have a tumor or an aneurysm, but it was a joyful ride. I am grateful to be able to ride again. Amen.
