December Critical Mass
5 PM, West Mall on the University of Texas campus
The last Friday of each month means Critical Mass time. Now that you’re stuffed with turkey and football, ride it off counter culture style. This bike jamming ride designed to shout to the world that bikes belong had over 400 participants last month and in September took a peaceful ride on the upper deck of I-35. You never know what will happen, but don’t miss this foundation of the Austin bike culture we know today.

7 PM, Caffe Medici, 1101 West Lynn

All levels of riders are welcome on this 25-30 mile night ride with stops to regroup. Lights are mandatory and helmets strongly recommended. Come early and enjoy some coffee and a snack before the ride.

Accidentally forgot to ad another big event coming up in the next week: First Night Austin! The Austin Bike Zoo is going to be taking part in the procession, there’s going to be a celebrity pedicab race, and since the various events are somewhat spread out getting around downtown by bikes on the 31st is the way to do it.
