The folks across the pond are at it again with a new ad to raise awareness of cyclists on the road.
This follows up a great PSA done last year involving guys playing basketball and someone in a bear costume. If we had PSAs like this is on American TV, we might actually get some respect on the road.

The PSAs are amusing, but misleading at best. Driving is about getting where you’re going while doing it in an efficient, safe and courteous manner. (OK, perhaps that’s a bit over the top, but bear with me.)
It’s *not* about being told to count something that’s difficult to count and then throwing in something subtly totally different. Or being asked to figure out how things changed when you weren’t looking. It’s not like motorists are asked to count the number of times the flasher on a car flashes, and then get dinged because they failed to notice a guy on a tall bike riding through …
Motorists already look for cars, pedestrians, etc. These skills/habits serve them well with bicycles as well — especially when they’re ridden `vehicularly’.
