Velonews is reporting that the Team Astana’s equipment truck was broken into last night at the Tour of California and four bikes were stolen including Lance Armstrong’s time trial bike. It had a unique paint job specifically for Armstrong, although there is a backup bike for him for the Friday time trial in Solvang.
The team put out reports on the theft via Armstrong’s Twitter account which are reported on Biking Bis:
“Whoa!! They just came to my room and said our truck was broken into and someone stole my time trial bike! Wtf?!? APB out to the twitterati.”
“There is only one like it in the world therefore hard to pawn it off. Reward being offered.”

what would the bikenapper be doing with the bike they stole since they can’t sell it anyways, put it up in the trophy room for display? why can’t they just think of something more productive to do? sigh.
