Austinite Layne Severson was charged Wednesday with laundering money for accused bike thief James Clayton.

The Austin American Statesman is reporting that there has been second arrest in the James Clatyon bike theft ring (hey, there are two people now so its a ring!) Austinite Layne Severson was arrested yesterday on felony money laundering charges by passing $8,500 through her accounts for Clayton.

Interestingly enough, Jason at ATXBS mentioned the fact that when he first wrote about Clayton’s bicycle thievery in December Severson was the only person defending Clayton in response to his posts.
