Bicycle News Roundup, 2/25/09

Ever had one of those weeks? Sorry all, the roundup is two days late this week, but here it is! We have a lot of great stuff for you, so I’m sure it was worth the wait.

Apparently some Portland residents don’t actually want to bike to get around. They would rather walk. Can you believe it?

At Apartment Fetish there’s a pretty good article on hiding your bicycle in your compact apartment or condo, which applies here pretty well too.

The Seattle Transit Blog makes a very good point about the perception of bicycle infrastructure: is it an amenity, or is it a vital piece of infrastructure?

EcoVelo discusses a story in Momentum Magazine about cyclist and pedestrian researcher (and Rutgers University Planning Professor) John Pucher.

Copenhagenize has a great article about the burgeoning cycle culture in Australia, focusing on Melbourne.

In our last article for this week, Japan Today reports that cycling is booming despite the worldwide recession (depression?).
