Bicycle Sport Shop closed Sunday in memory of Carol Masterson

BSS staffer Carol Masterson
Both locations of Bicycle Sport Shop will be closed this Sunday, March 1 in memory of Carol Masterson, a BSS staffer who recently past. I didn’t know Carol, but I remember her always being helpful and saying funny things when I’d check out.
A memorial service will be held from Sunday, from 10am-Noon at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center. Everyone is invited. Bring your bike and join us after the service for a casual ride from the Veloway in Carol’s honor.

I’m sad to hear this. I talked to her at least two dozen times at BSS and really enjoyed chatting with her every time I was in the store.

She was the only person at BSS who knew my name when I walked in the door. It will not be the same going back there now.

Carol always remembered me as well when I came in, and further, noticed when I hadn’t been around. She was in on my “10 second” sale when I bought my Surly Long Haul Trucker and made getting another new bike even more fun. Sorry Hill, I probably spent too much time talking with her “on the clock”, and be assured we both had the ability to shut it down quickly so no customer lost out on timely customer service. She was a good daughter to her mother….so patient and loving about her responsibilities to her family. Going to BSS will always have a good flavor, but it is now slightly diminished and I will miss her. Love you Carol Mark Dunlap (The guy with the Recumbent Trike)

Only found out today. I considered Carol my friend. I am sorry I missed the ride on March 1. Love you Carol. – another redhead
