Spain’s high-speed rail kicks our ass… can we improve?

NPR covered Spain’s high-speed rail network recently in comparison to ours, which is obviously WAY behind. So far behind as in not really there at all (unless you count Amtrak’s Acela service in the northeast, which is kinda-sorta-high-speed in some places and at some times because our tracks suck).

It’s worth a listen, especially considering President Obama wants to invest in high-speed rail here in the U.S. and multimodal connections are incredibly important to multimodal commuters and people wanting to live carfree or car-lite.
