Sunday afternoon, I loaded up the kids in the Xtracycle and headed down to Docs Backyard in Sunset Valley for the first South Austin Vintage Bicycle Meet-up. Vintage Schwinn lovers rejoice for you have found your scene! I spoke with Nathan Peck, the organizer of the Meet-up, who is trying to make this a regular event with a possible ride/parade involved. Dunno about you, but those photos really reminded me of my childhood. My first bike was an old, beat up red Schwinn Stingray. I really loved that bike.
