We have brought you coverage in the past of the first reviews of the Dynamic Synergy bicycle, including a test ride from Bike Commuters of the bike. Dynamic Bicycles officially announced the bicycle’s availability in this March 10 press release. According to Dynamic:
The Dynamic Synergy uses the Shimano 8-speed Alfine hub – Shimano’s most efficient internal hub – and offers a gear range equal to 95 percent of a compact double crankset, and 92 percent of a full triple crankset. The Versa shifter has separate up and down shift levers and delivers smooth, consistent shifts that can be made at any time – while pedaling, coasting, or even at a complete stop. Versa’s matching crankset features a highly efficient single chainring design that makes it easy to customize the gear range to match riding style and terrain. These components are mounted on a custom designed aluminum frame with a carbon road fork. The Dynamic Synergy weighs just 21 pounds, making it the lightest internally geared bike on the market today.
Dynamic list the bike as being a good long distance commuter, and we agree. The Synergy really looks like a good bike for Austinites. Still no word unfortunately on whether the shifting system can be had aftermarket, though.
