ACA Meeting Tonight at 7pm: Camping by bike

aca_logo_100x100The Austin Cycling Association meets at 7pm tonight at the LCRA Redbud Center, 3601 Lake Austin Boulevard (it’s on the south side of the road, not the north side like the other main LCRA buildings:  click for a map)

Tonight’s topic is camping by bicycle. From their website description:

If you’ve ever dreamed about doing a self-contained bike camping tour, this is your chance to learn more about how to do it, and to join a tour for an overnight campout.

Former ACA presidents Steve Coyle and Scott Korcz will talk about the bike tour at the April meeting on April 6. They are planning an S24O (sub 24 hour overnight) tour to a local campground. In preparation for this tour, Steve and Scott will present hands-on information about the gear necessary to pack everything you need on your bike in order to camp overnight. Their presentation will cover panniers, trailers, racks, camping equipment, clothes, and food that can be used on the S24O they are planning. They will also discuss the bike route to the local campground for the overnight campout and the date for the tour.

Steve and Scott encourage folks to bring their own bike touring and camping gear to the presentation for discussion.

Hope to see you there!
