@Anony:  we haven&#039;t used pvc because of the shattering, ABS is better, but it will also shatter, especially at high speed impacts... we&#039;ve found out.  We&#039;ve now got half of the mallets made with Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene, which so far is way way better.  But one of the players had to order that online, doesn&#039;t seem to be so readily available.
