Ahh all right, I was wrong about the mallets. Thanks for clearing that up, Robert. I was really glad to come out, and I’ll be back – mostly to practice cause I need to get a ton better. Fun stuff!

Great write up Marcus, thanks for coming out and playing. Sorry for the delay also, usually we get started a little earlier, ha.

@Anony: we haven’t used pvc because of the shattering, ABS is better, but it will also shatter, especially at high speed impacts… we’ve found out. We’ve now got half of the mallets made with Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene, which so far is way way better. But one of the players had to order that online, doesn’t seem to be so readily available.

I still like my fixie for polo!

PVC should not be used for mallet heads. PVC shatters. ABS is what polo players use as its cheap and readily available at the hardware store.

Freewheel bikes are the ideal for polo.
