Politics on Two Wheels: Political Pedal this Friday

politicalpedalEvery May when Bike Month rolls around, the Political Pedal rolls in with it. Started over a decade ago, the Political Pedal gives cyclists a chance to talk one-on-one with local elected officials as well as giving those politicians a chance to see what its like to ride a bike on our streets. The ride is short and social and always ends with a happy hour, this year at Uncle Billy’s Brew Pub at 1530 Barton Springs Rd.

All City Council members and candidates–along with mayoral candidates and other elected officials–have been invited so see who attends and shows they care about our community. Also this year, APD Chief Art Acevedo has shown interest and may come along, so get ready to cork some intersections!

Political Pedal and Happy Hour
Friday, May 1
4:45 p.m. (ride leaves shortly after 5 p.m.)
City Hall, 301 W. 2nd Street

For more information, or if you need to reserve a free bike to ride, contact Scott Johnson at (512) 389-2250
