As you may have read in the New York Times or Bike Portland, there was a bike tour featuring 200 bright orange Batavus bikes in NYC on Thursday. They now have a Flickr slideshow up of the event, which we feature below:

Early that morning Cabinet Minister Timmermans presented the City of New York with a fleet of 200 NY400 bicycles for use throughout the city this year in an effort to promote bicycling. As part of the celebration of 400 years of friendship between the Netherlands and New York and to highlight the 400th anniversary of Henry Hudson’s arrival on a Dutch ship to the shores of what is nowadays NYC, the bikes symbolically arrived this morning via the Hudson River on board of a NYC WATER TAXI. The bikes will be the icon of the NY400 celebrations this year.
