Brazil operates the largest bike parking facilities in the Americas

Brazil is already way ahead of us on developing alternative energy and a recent Economist article showed how the Brazilians have been smart in their investments limiting the effects of the global economic meltdown. Now, it turns out they are also way ahead of us on providing one of the most important part of bike infrastructure: safe parking.

This StreetsFilm piece examines how they are providing large scale bike parking for 1700 bikes in São Paulo linked to their transit system to create a complete carfree transportation option.
