Reprint of LOBV email below. See the part about showing up to City Council hearing next week – it’s important!
First…We won! All of our endorsed candidates for Mayor and City Council won Saturday. In particular, thanks to all the LOBV members who helped out with or donated to the Chris Riley campaign. It was a great moment indeed for the future of bicycling in Austin.
Next…Please see the info below on next week’s council hearing on the Bike Plan. We need a huge turnout to show the City Council we are an active and dedicated community of bicyclists. (And to bury the ramblings of naysayers like this: http://www.statesman.com/opinion/content/editorial/stories/05/11/0511stone_edit.html)
And for a visual impact, please consider donning a LOBV T-shirt. Order one now to allow for shipping time!
City Council Hearing on the Bike Plan
Thursday, May 21st at 6 pm.
The Public Hearing to adopt the update to the City’s Bicycle Master Plan will be at that time (although depending where we end up the agenda, could end up being anytime after 6 pm up to 10pm). You can sign up to speak, or simply sign up for or against the plan and check “not wishing to speak.” You can sign up starting Monday afternoon, May 18th at the kiosks on the first floor of City Hall, and can sign up up until the public hearing is closed on the 21st.
The Plan can be viewed by clicking below (Note that there is a change addendum as the last PDF which contains additions/deletions to the plan which we plan to administer assuming Council adoption of the plan and addendum).

Here’s who won on Saturday (McCracken withdrew in the mayor’s race after it was apparent he had an uphill climb in a runoff)
