New film on Race Across America now available

In just over a week, the Race Across America (RAAM) will begin its 28th trip from the Pacific to the Atlantic. The 3000 mile time trial brings out the most extreme in endurance athletes with solo riders completing the course in about 9-12 days. Most solo riders take short sleeping breaks along the way but spend countless hours in the saddle to finish the race.

Documentary film-maker Stephen Auerbach released his film about the RAAM this spring called Bicycle Dreams. He used 18 camera to follow several riders and figure out why someone does extreme endurance events. The film has received some early praise but no word on any viewings in the Austin area. It is however available on DVD for $19.99 at the Bicycle Dreams website.
