KVUE is reported last night on an Austin cyclist, Brad Urry, who was shot in the back with a BB gun while riding on Southwest Parkway in May.
Urry said, two people in a light-blue Prius shot him in the back with a pellet gun and kept going.
The half inch deep wound barely missed his spine.
“When they went by me they scrunched down in the seat so that I couldn’t see anything but the top of their heads,” said Urry. “I wanted to catch them to find out what did I do to deserve this? Why would you do this to another person and create such a situation where somebody could literally get killed?” questioned Urry. He told KVUE he wants others to be aware of their surroundings.

So be on the look out and realize that just because someone drives a Prius doesn’t mean they’re nice.

I guess Austin is not so ultra cool after all. Just another example of how a couple of real losers can have a huge impact. How many proud Austinites are there that think those losers in the Prius did a righteous and noble thing? If you’re a cyclist, think about the level of hatred that exists out there BEFORE you barrel through a stop sign, ride 2 and 3 abreast or cut in and out onto and off of sidewalks and spur some idiot to action.

I lived in Austin for 18 years until I REALLY got tired of the seriously messed up people that live there…especially ALL the cyclists that think they can run all over the road and fly through stop signs/lights and expect cars/trucks to screech to a halt for them. If this cyclist was in the bike lane and doing things proper, then good for him, but the others that think the road is only for them, then they get what they deserve!!!
