Thanks to BikeHacks who alerted me to a cool new bike product, the Monkey Light. A computer run LED lighting system for your spokes, the Monkey Light ups the ante on the Down Low Glow and takes after dark visibility and bike bling to the next level. Available for the low, low price of $64.95 online, this product could make the next Moonlight Cruise all the groovier.
In addition, the same company makes a Video Pro version as seen in this video that goes beyond the geometric shapes of the Monkey Light to full custom and animated images.
BikeHacks reports that this system is priced at over $2000 and the Monkey Lectric site indicates that it is intended for commercial or marketing uses. At that price, I don’t expect to see any Video Pros around town, but I may need to put some cash down for the Monkey Light.
UPDATE: Eileen from Mellow Johnny’s has let us know you can get the Monkey Light locally at Mellow Johnny’s where they are currently in stock. Did someone say Father’s Day?

The Monkey Lights are awesome! Some of the Bike Zoo monarchs from the First Night parade were sporting them – myself included. Mellow Johnny’s has them in stock.
