Initial impressions are very positive. Much better shifting than the Shimano tapfire shifter (ST-8S20) I was using in the previous flatbar setup on my Cross Check. Long lever throw for downshifts isn't actually a problem in use, (and I have small hands), shifting to higher gears is very easy to do by tapping the top small release lever.
