Social Cycling ATX, the Facebook group that puts on the Thursday Urban Night Ride, has started a new ride for Monday night with a little less social pace. It looks like beer and other fun will still end the ride.

8 PM Sharp!
Lamar Blvd Pfluger Pedestrian Bridge
Here are the details from the event page on Facebook (click here to RSVP.)
What’s that you say? Harder? Faster? Longer? A little pain with your pleasure?
No problem! We’ll ride, we’ll sweat, and our lungs will burn. And when the work is done and the pleasure begins, you’ll have not a doubt in your mind you’ve earned it.
The Plan: Meet at the Lamar Pedestrian bridge on Monday at 7:30pm, just like on Thursdays. Unlike Thursday, we’ll leave the bridge at 8 pm sharp!. Don’t be late as there’s no catching us once we leave. (Yes, that’s a challenge). Expect a reasonably fast pace, covering 15-20 miles on urban and not so urban routes. Next, we’ll hit Barton Springs for some cold water goodness. Once we’re nice and chilly, it’s to the Jackalope, always generous to the two wheeled kind. Once we get there, expect free beer, heavy metal madness, half-priced pizza and happy hour ($2.00 wells) all damn night.
This is not a your normal road ride. This is a fast paced urban ride for all types of bikes. Single-speed, fixed-geared, multi-geared, bmx, road bikes and mountain bikes are all welcome. You will be riding with friends, not your mother, so bring all of your gear. You need to have water, tools to change a tire, a tube and a device to inflate it. The pace will be pretty fast. If you can’t keep up, that’s cool, just drop off and meet us for swimming and drinks later.
