The 48th installment of Frankenbike occurred this Saturday, July 25 at Buck’s Bike’s in Northwest Austin. The turnout was a bit lighter than usual perhaps due to the far north location which is not particularly bikeable. Still, there was a good showing of part swappers including quite a few more frames and frame sets than usual. There was also a lot more Campy stuff which seriously temped me. I had to hold myself back from getting a 70’s lugged steel French road frameset (with headset and French bottom bracket included!) that was just my size for only $50. Maybe next month. No word yet on next month’s location, but stay tuned.
