The August Full Moon Cruise got left off our weekly round up of cycling events, so if you don’t have to work earily on Thursday or just want to go for a ride after the Bikes Rock concert come on out.

Full Sturgeon Moon – August The fishing tribes are given credit for the naming of this Moon, since sturgeon, a large fish of the Great Lakes and other major bodies of water, were most readily caught during this month. A few tribes knew it as the Full Red Moon because, as the Moon rises, it appears reddish through any sultry haze. It was also called the Green Corn Moon or Grain Moon.

Or maybe you DO have to work early tomorrow and you’re just a maniac. We like those types too. We’ve organized with the BFF crew to lead a ride from the Bikes Rock event over to the bridge after the show ends, so if you’re at the show and want to cruise over with us, just keep an eye out for the weird looking tattooed guy shouting at everyone.
