Austin Bike Shop resource page updated plus new sidebar links

Back in March, we started a resource page for the cycling community to make it easier to find local bike shops in one spot. We created a comprehensive list of all the bike shops in town with an interactive map to make it easy to find the place you’re looking for. In that time, we’ve had a couple new shops open and unfortunately lost one so it was time for an update of the page and map.

As we review each shop, we’ll add this “reviewed” icon next to each shop linked to the written review. We have four published reviews but hope to add at least another four by the end of the year.

We’ve also added links on the side bar to all the shops divided by area of town and by speciality of the shop, if any. We hope this helps you get the new ride or replacement flange you need.

The work you do is wonderful.

The bike shop resource page is missing some new shops like AJ’s Cyclery (on North Parmer), Lane 4 Sports (3621 E. Whitestone Blvd., Cedar Park, TX. 78613). Also, Music City is now located on McNeil (7212 McNeil Dr., #201).

Thanks, Dan. I knew about Music City and thought I had that up to date. We’ll make the updates soon.

My experiance at WATERLOO CYCLES. I was run out of the shop by the crazy old man who owns and runs the place. I wanted to window shop to kill sometime and was told “so you are going to waste my time while I have other things I could be doing?” after I told the guy I was not looking to purchase a bike today. I asked him if he felt like he needed to stand right next to me to prevent me from stealing from him and he nodded yes. I am a clean cut 40 yo male who has owned several bikes over the years, have a daughter that I have purchased a couple of bikes for, have enough income to purchase anything in the store and he thinks it is an imposition to have me look around his tiny, dirty, dumpy little store. There are any number of great bike shops in Austin and this is not one of them. SHOP ANYWHERE BUT WATERLOO CYCLES.
