Austin Master Bike Plan wins State Planning Project Award

Kudos to the City of Austin Bicycle & Pedestrian Program for winning the very competitive State Planning Project Award for their work on the recently adopted 2009 Austin Master Bike Plan. The City will officially accept the award at the annual conference of the Texas Chapter of the American Planners Association in October in Galveston.

Congrats to Annick and all the staff.

That’s all well and good, but is the city going to make the bike riders obey the traffic laws? They don’t yet, and it is a major hazard to anyone driving a car, as these idiots whiz in and out of traffic, running stop signs and red lights.

    TXMom,
If you read this site regularly, you’ll see that APD does ticket cyclists for traffic violations as part of unofficial crack downs and general enforcement.
