Framebuilder happy hour tonight & two more builders confirmed for the Texas Custom Bicycle Show

Rear drop outs brass brazed to stays. Right is just brazed and left is filed finished.

The Texas Custom Bicycle Show is coming in five weeks, and as a warm up several local builders will be meeting this evening for a Framebuilders Happy Hour. They’ll be showing off some of their latest work, answering questions, and end up with a social ride (if it doesn’t rain on us!) If you are thinking about buying a custom bike, aspiring to build, or just curious to learn more about how bikes are made, stop by tonight.

In other Texas Custom Bicycle Show news, two additional builders have confirmed their participation in the show October 23-25. First, local builder Willits Brand Bicycles will be showing their steel and titanium 29ers. We recently did a profile article of Wes Williams of Willits, the outspoken creator of the 29er.In addition, the show received its first out of state exhibitor with Bilenky Cycle Works of Philadephia, PA. Stephen Bilenky and his crew have been building custom steel bicycles in 1983 with a focus on very tall and very short riders who have difficulty finding stock bikes and has been featured multiple times in Bicycling magazine.

The Texas Custom Bicycle Show website is doing short profile posts a few times a week of each of the featured builders of the show. These posts include pictures, contact info, and a little bit about the builders in their own words.  Gallus Cycles of Ft. Worth and Dominion Bicycle Company of Austin are already up with more coming this week. If you are looking for a little more in depth information on some of the builders, check out our Bicycle Framebuilders Section for previous posts on a few of the builders who will be in the show.
