Over the weekend, ATXBS posted a couple rides for this week that were missed in our weekly recommended event roundup.
Monday Night Pub Crawl- Blazer Ride
Monday, Nov 9, 7 PM, Uncle Billy’s Brew & Que, 1530 Barton Springs Rd
After a long hiatus, the Monday Night Pub Crawl is back. While several cities including Sacramento and Philadelphia are doing Tweed Rides to usher in the fall, the closest we are going to get in our warm climate is a Blazer Ride. Wear a blazer, the louder the better, or be square. Bring your ID, Lights & a LOCK! The ride will be hitting up some killer happy hour specials, and riding like a pack of well dressed wolves.
Ghost Bike Tour
Wednesday, Nov 11, 6:30 PM, Lamar Blvd Pfluger Pedestrian Bridge, Lady Bird Lake
November 11 is Veterans Day, a day to honor fallen veterans of American conflicts and wars. It’s only fitting to also remember fellow fallen cyclist who have died on Austin roads in the last year. The rider leader will match the first $500 donated to a fund for Kylie Bruehler, a seven year old San Antonio girl who was orphaned last month when both her parents were killed while cycling. Please wear white and bring a light.

There’s a new ghost bike on shoulder of Loop 360 heading north between the Spicewoods for Arjun who was killed there back in Aug 2006. It popped up on Día de los Muertos this year. TxDot pulled the first soon after it was put there.

Id love to ride in Austin again soon. Ive only visited but feel close to all the happenings around TX, due to the internet’s connectivity and proximity. Due respect to the families that have lost loved ones.
cheers/ meli
