Final Dirt Derby cancelled, but South Side Happy Hour Bike Polo on for tonight

As we suspected, it looks like the final Dirt Derby will not be happening tonight:

We were hoping to be able to end our season series on high note, but mother nature foiled us yet again. The bad news is that tonight was to be the last of our races in 2009. The good news is that we’re planning a party to kick off the next year and kiss this one goodbye. We’ll be giving out prizes and awards, having some food, beverages, roller races, slow race and/or trackstand competition. It’s all going down January 5th, so save the date, and we’ll be handing out more details soon.

If you’ve got your knobbies ready, your skin suit all laid out, or you just gotta cyclocross, definitely head out to the Man v Mud alleycross tonight at 6:30.

Alternatively, you can take in a special Tuesday night version of bike polo hosted by the Austin Texas Bike Polo Social Club. This one is in my neighborhood at 5 PM at Joslin Park just south of Ben White on Manchaca.
