January 4 ACA meeting moved to Max’s Wine Dive

acalogo09Rio Grande Restaurant closes Jan 1

Austin Cycling Association is trying to mix things up a bit with their monthly meeting moving from the staid LCRA meeting rooms to more festive locations. Their first attempt for January’s meeting ran into a snag just before the holidays when it was discovered that their meeting place, the Rio Grande Restaurant, announced they were closing January 1. Though the local bike friendly restaurant seemed to be doing well, its parent company declared bankruptcy earlier this month necessitating the closure.

Fortunately, the Austin location manager stepped in and helped ACA find a place next door at Max’s Wine Dive for their meeting. I will be the guest speaker in January talking about the state of Austin bike culture and its future. I hope you can attend.
