Thursday Night Social Ride

A ride from the Facebook group Social Cycling ATX. that has gotten so big it had to abandon the Pfluger Bridge start location. Meet  at 7:30 p.m. leave at 8 p.m. Details on this week’s ride: Last week Alan Hughes, a traffic engineer for 27 years with the city, retired. Alan played a key role in planning and implementing most of the bicycle facilities you enjoy around town. So this week, we are throwing him a little party. He’s going to ride around with us on a few of the many facilities that he created. After we ride for a bit we are dropping by the Bike Texas Office where they have hooked us up with some beer from New Belgium. We’ll have a chance to talk with Alan and several of the city employees about the future of cycling in Austin. Good beer and talking about bikes… it should be a really fun and you might learn a thing or two. From there we will ride some more because the weather is going to be AWESOME. After we are done we are ending up at Club Deville for the THROWBACK featuring DJ Digg and Hobo D. Last time we went to the THROWBACK, fun was had by all. Don’t miss out! Club Deville will be throwing some kegs our way as well as giving us some nice drink specials. Thanks Club Deville!” Read our recent article on the popular weekly ride.
