Bike Hugger sets larger Mobile Social for SXSW

Plus other bike related SXSW activities

The Seattle based site Bike Hugger will be returning to SXSW this March 13 with a larger Mobile Social, their itinerant social cycling ride. In addition to the ride, they will be putting on a a variety show at Mellow Johnny’s Bike Shop.

This event is about you and your talents off the bike – we know you are a team of many talents, after all. Please come prepared to perform a five minute act of some kind. Bring your best Michael Jackson music video performance, Romeo and Juliet closing scene, Muppet Show, or George Carlin jokes. This is about theatre, style, showmanship, talent (or not), but mostly it’s about fun. Following the show there will be an awards ceremony, giving the top teams prizes and bragging rights.

For more on the ride and show, visit the Bike Hugger SXSW Mobile Social site.

More details as we get them.

    Funny.

When Byron asked Social Cycling ATX to handle the ride I told him to expect massive turnout. He was skeptical… but not anymore. Already over 300 confirmed… with more than a month out from the event.

    It’s going to be fun!

Confirmed on Facebook? Not really known as a reliable indicator of how many will actually show up.

(That said, Social Cycling ATX does bring all the boys (and a few girls) to the yard …)

Thanks for posting this. We’re considering taking laps around Mellow Johnny’s miss ‘n out style to control the crowd.
