Registration limited to 1st 100 registrants

To further shake things up at the Austin Cycling Association, the group will be hosting the first ever Poke Run ride on Saturday, February 27. The 14 mile social ride will start and end at the Peddler Bike Shop with stops to draw cards at Longhorn Bikes, East Side Pedal Pushers, University Cyclery, Ozone Bikes and Clown Dog Bikes.

Each poker hand costs the contestant $5 and there will be an option to discard two cards and draw two more (for an additional $5) when contestants return to the Peddler. Start time for the ride is 1 p.m. and the late registration table will open at 11:30 a.m.. Finish time will be 3:30 p.m. First prize is $100. Second place gets what you usually get for second place in poker: zilch. We are currently hitting folks up for door prize donations, so everyone will get a shot at those.

As this is an ACA ride, rules of the road apply and a helmet is required.

Registration is $5 and gets you one poker sheet.  It’s like bingo, if you want to improve your odds you can buy more sheets for $5 each.   Then at each stop you get to draw a card for each hand you are playing.
