Friday Film Fun: A.N.T. Bicycles The Movie

In addition to my framebuilding business, Violet Crown Cycles, there are only a handful of U.S. custom builders focusing on bicycles truly designed to replace cars as a valid transportation option. Mike Flanigan, formerly of Independent Fabrication, is one of those builders making great roadster style bikes under the name Alternative Needs Transportation or A.N.T. Bikes for short.

Flanigan recently produced this short video giving us a peek into the design thought process we use to create this style of bikes and some of the unique touches he puts into his frames.

And for only several thousand dollars, you too can own a pretentious piece of junk commuter bike. Why not just buy a Trek 520? Sure they are pricks, but not like Mike is.

    Chad,
Not everyone wants an mass produced aluminum hybrid. Mike’s bikes are fully custom and made one at a time at living wages, not mass produced in China (Mind you your cheap imports are only possible due to artificially cheap oil.)

They may be out of your price range or not your style, but you clearly do not know what you are talking about when you call them junk. Mike is a well respected framebuilder who has been building for decades. I’ve seen his work in person and they are quality bikes.

If a bike is not your style, DON’T BUY IT. They is no need to trash someone else producing a quality bicycle another person will love. Stop hating.
