UPDATE 2: Sorry for the confusion, folks, but the Republic of Texas Bike Rally is this weekend, and our restaurant stops have highly recommended we not hold our Taste of Downtown II Tour rain date at the same time. So instead, we are pushing the ride to Wednesday, June 16. That was originally the night of the Pampered Pedal II which we’ll be rescheduling for a future date. We apologize for the confusion but believe this will yield a better ride experience for everyone.

Again if you already registered for the Taste of Downtown II and can’t make this new rain date, please contact me for a refund by Sunday, June 13. Otherwise, all registrations will transfer to the new date.

UPDATE: The weather man is not cooperating for the second ride in our social ride series, the Taste of Downtown II, originally scheduled for Wednesday, June 9. With a 60% chance of heavy thunderstorms tomorrow, we are moving the ride to our rain date of Sunday, June 13. If you already purchased a ticket and can’t make the rain date, please contact me for a refund by Friday. Otherwise, all registrations will transfer to the new date.

The second ride in our Summer Social Ride Series is the Taste of Downtown II, this Wednesday evening, and is a variation on our popular spring ride of the same name. This time we’ll ride in the evening and will take in some different samples of the best locally made food our town has to offer. Stops will include great burgers samplers at Your Mom’s Burgers, Latin American cuisine at El Sol y La Luna, and dessert at Tart Frozen Yogurt. Vegetarian options will be available. All food and drink, bike valet, and our professional ride guides as well as our series partner businesses coupon book are included in your registration. Taste of Downtown II Tour

DATE: Wednesday, June 9, 2010 Wednesday, June 16, 2010

TIME: Meet up at 6:30 PM, Leave at 7:00 PM (please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to departure for check-in). Ride will wrap up by approximately 10 PM

LOCATION: Austin City Hall, north side of building, 301 West 2nd St

COST: Online registration before ride day $20/person, Ride day cash only registration $25. Bring a friend and save $5! 2 persons registration: $35, Ride day cash registration $45.

Note about evening rides: This ride will end after sunset requiring everyone participating to bring a bike with the legal minimum of a working front light and rear reflector (rear light preferred.) If your bike does not have these minimums, you will not be allowed to ride with us. We will have a limited number of front and rear light sets for sale for $25 cash (tax included) at the beginning of the ride.
