Earlier this week on Tuesday, former Austin Cycling Association President and current Board Member Stanton Truxillo suffered a massive heart attack while on a group ride. A passing motorist stopped to perform CPR and got Stanton’s heart pumping again until paramedics arrived. Once at St. David’s South, he was put into an induced coma and his body was cooled until he could be stabilized.

While this was shocking news, good news has followed. Yesterday, Stanton came out of his coma and appeared to be in better shape. ACA member William Hudson said, “Stanton awoke at about 2 this morning. Susie was there and his brain function seems normal. Apparently quite feisty but cannot talk yet.”
