Today is Election Day, and while I think it’s pretty obvious which slate of candidates is more bike friendly, it is critical that you get out and vote. Most importantly to those who ride on two wheels is Proposition #1, the last item on the ballot. Even if you wish a pox on both parties, please show up and vote FOR Proposition #1 which includes bonds for major bicycle and pedestrian improvements all over town. You don’t have to vote the entire ballot and as long as you are register to vote all you need is a government issued photo ID, voter registration card or even a utility bill in your name.
Polls are open today until 7 PM, and as long as you are in line to vote before the polls close you can vote. On Election Day you can only vote in your precinct. The up side of this is that your polling location is in your neighborhood so you can bike to vote (I did this morning!) If you know your precinct number and want to find you polling location, check this polling location list. If you don’t know your precinct, you can look it up here (this search will also tell you your polling location).
