Unfortunately, I’m heading out of town today otherwise I’d totally be at the Dirt Derby tonight with my Xtracycle (heck maybe even a bakfiets!)

It’s another fun night of racing this week at the Bicycle Sport Shop Dirt Derby, with a special trailer/Longbike/trail-a bike race. Haul a kid or at least an extra person behind you and race prior to the kids race. Sometimes racing is more fun with someone behind you yelling at you to go faster. Race starts at 6:10.

Austin’s weekly cyclocross series returns for its fourth season at the the fully illuminated motocross course and surrounding fields at Austin/Del Valle Motorcross Park (ADVMX). There are A, B, beginners, women’s, and children’s races in cyclocross and short track mountain bike. New schedule: 6:15 PM Kids Race, 6:20 PM Beginner Race Intro Lap, 6:30 PM Beginner Race (20 min), 7:00 PM B Short Track MTB (25 min), Intermediate, Masters & Single Speed classes, 7:30 PM B Cyclocross (25 min), Intermediate, Masters & Single Speed classes, 8:05 PM Open Short Track / Cyclocross (30 min)$10, women, beginners and kids only $5. Second race same night $5. All types of bikes are welcome. There will also be a Two 7-Week Miniseries with more prizes.
