Now that the Yellow Bike Project has a permanent home on Webberville road, the bike distributing non-profit is seeking a way to spruce up the joint with an awesome sculpture to keep Austin weird. They are working to build a pedaling Tyrannosaurus Rex sculpture out of recycled bicycle parts in front of Yellow Bike HQ.
The concept is for a skeleton T-Rex riding on a recycled bicycle. It would be a wind-driven articulated sculpture making it appear as if the dino was actually riding a bike. We’re using salvaged bicycle parts.
More about the sculpture at Old Guy on Two Wheels.
If you’d liked to help make this public art a reality, please attend the Raise the Rex party this Friday night at 9 PM at Spider House, (2908 Furth St). Tickets are $6 and include a raffle.

The project to be installed at their new headquarters on Webberville road will be a kinetic sculpture of a Tyrannosaurus Rex riding a bicycle and will be completely wind driven. If you missed the fundraising party to help with this project, you can still donate and check out a really great computer generated video of the sculpture on their Kickstarter page. [...]
