Extending the Pfluger bridge on Lady Bird Lake to cross over the busy West Cesar Chavez Street has been a dream of the cycling community that was over a decade in the making. After breaking ground on the extension last spring, the Austin American Statesman is reporting that tomorrow the bridge will officially open. With the snowing weather looming, you may not want to ride down tomorrow to see it open, but know it’s now an option for getting downtown.

Still sucks compared to the NW arm. Will still require a couple of yields/stops which the NW arm would not have; meaning that if you’re a law-abiding transportation cyclist, you’re still much better off in the car lanes on Lamar.
