Yesterday, the 2011 North American Handmade Bicycle Show wrapped up in Austin with awards given for the best bikes from the show. Austin based carbon bike maker KirkLee took home the honors for Best Paint Job with their version of Vincent Van Gogh’s Starry Night painted on a frame.

Best Off Road Bicycle: Black Sheep bicycles – James Ripley
Best Tandem Bicycle: Kent Eriksen Cycles – Kent Eriksen
Best Carbon Fiber Bicycle: Strong Cycles – Carl Strong
Best Steel Bicycle: Bishop Cycles – Chris Bishop
Best Titanium Bicycle: Kish Bicycles – Jim Kish
Best Lugged Bicycle: Bilenky Cycleworks – Steve Bilenky
Best Fillet Brazed Bicycle: Dominguez Cycles – Vincent Dominguez
Best Tig Welded Bicycle: Independent Fabrications
Best City Bicycle: Signal Cycles
Rookie of the year: Cory Rossin
People’s Choice Bicycle: Naked – Sam Winniham
Presidents Choice: Anderson Cycles – Dave Anderson
Best in Show Trophy: DiNucci Cycles – Mark DiNucci
This year’s NAHBS set an attendance record of 7316, surpasing the previous record 2008 show in Portland. There were also a recond number of exhibitors at 174. The 2012 North American Handmade Bicycle Show will be held in Sacramento, CA, March 3-5.
