You wanta be in pictures? Here’s your chance.
The City of Austin is producing a series of bike safety public service announcements and wants local Austin cyclists for the shoot. They want you to come for one hour and stand next to the City and your community for the cause of bicycle safety and awareness.
The City of Austin wants:
- Seeking all types of bicyclists
- Email a picture of yourself with a brief description of how and where you ride
- Please include a window of time you are available on either March 4th or 5th
Shooting dates:
3:30p – 10p March 4th, 2011
10p – 10p March 5th, 2011
For questions or comments email us at Info@CosmicMammoth.com.
Additional Info:
The films will be public service announcements and are collaborations between the City, the production company, and several local supporters (everyone from Whole Foods to Daily Juice).
The focus of the three, 30-60 second films will be to humanize cyclists while also communicating simple bicycle safety messages
One of the films will be simple vignettes of cyclists telling their stories; another is simple vignettes with visually striking animation, and the final one is to be shot on Riverside and will be “on-the-road” featuring downtown and a moment in cycling.
There will be food on set

That poster is interesting. No helmet, open shoes (barely shoes at all, in fact). Will the city use riders who dress like that?

Interesting observation, Toni, considering the City’s stance on such “dangerous” behavior in the past: http://austinontwowheels.org/2009/07/17/bac-meeting-alows-venting-over-last-minute-master-plan-changes-introduction-of-new-bike-lane-installation-process/
My guess is that the production company, not the City of Austin, produced this flyer.
