Social Cycling is really on fire these days, adding new rides and options to get people out on two wheels. Their latest ride hopes to find the Divine from the saddle of your bike with a Sunday afternoon Spiritual Spokes ride starting this Sunday.
Here’s the info on this non-traditional way of getting closer to God and sharing in your faith:
Social Cycling is starting its own religion (well, sort of). As we roll through every part of the city on practically every other day; we figured why not roll with God on Sunday afternoon? What better place is there to feel God’s presence than on the seat of a bike, wind blowing past your face, and freedom pumping in your legs?
Mike Kaylani and Rebecca Greenlee (two non-traditional lovers of God) will be leading you on a ride that doubles as a worship experience. Church will be in service from the moment our wheels go down to the moment we pick our butts off some chairs after a few cold ones. Typical format will be to ride, hang at a destination and talk about faith, ride some more, and wrap up by hanging at a place where we can chill together while drinking cheap beer. Location, route, and themes will change from week to week…so stay tuned in.
If the whole concept freaks you out a little bit, then you’re in good company. But the point is that God doesn’t give a crap about how you connect with Him as long as you do. Whether you feel in tune with God, are curious about the idea of God, have never been to church, can fog a mirror, or are just wondering who these freakos are…we would love to have you. In all seriousness, if you want to ride with some of the most God-loving, people-loving folks around, this ride is for you.
WHERE AND WHEN: On the top of Doug Sahm Hill next to Palmer auditorium on Sunday, March 13 at 5:30 PM.
