Clayton appeared in court today, here’s the deal they struck:
Two state felony theft charges: 180 days
Two burglarly second degree felonies: 4 years
Two other charges not considered and packaged with the deal
So total sentence, 4 years in Texas Department of Criminal Justice jail

First it was the great James Clayton bicycle theft ring of ‘08. Then it was Team Barloworld. Not even “The Look” could save Lance Armstrong from bike theft. Now Velonews is reporting that USA Time Trial champ and Garmin-Slipstream team member Dave Zabriskie Salt Lake City home was broken into while he was racing the Tour of California.

The Austin American Statesman is reporting that there has been second arrest in the James Clatyon bike theft ring (hey, there are two people now so its a ring!) Austinite Layne Severson was arrested yesterday on felony money laundering charges by passing $8,500 through her accounts for Clayton.
