Currently, City staff participate in an employee only bike share program, but the 2009 Master Bike Plan calls [...]

So far it’s the Soho

It’s been nearly 24 hours since I asked our readers to put their two cents in on our next long-term test vehicle.  So far the Trek Soho is in the lead with three votes. Here are the bikes that have also gotten votes: Strida folding bike – yep this would be interesting. I dunno if [...]

Last month, I interviewed Leslie Luciano, Community Relations Manager, about the shop and got some quite interesting facts and tidbits about [...]

Breezer updated bikes – commuter bikes that are 90% of the way there

I’ve been looking around at the 2009 bicycle models this week and I’m happy that many more “commuter style” bicycles are being made, but almost all of them are just sort of half-done versions of what I would consider a true utility bicycle – see the Trek Allant as an example. They have some of [...]

Transportation cycling rising in national consciousness

And little of this is coming from the bike industry Being the consumer driven society we are in America, television commercials often seem to be the cutting edge on the latest trends in the national conscience (One can argue they book end trends based on the number of super-duty pickup truck ads I still see.) [...]

Giant wins EuroBike Gold Medal for Urban Bike Design Eurobike, one of the bike industry trade shows, was this last weekend and with it, the bike industry rolled out more of the latest, greatest hits in high performance carbon fiber items.
