Training with Sara Krause
Sara Krause earned her master's degree in Exercise Physiology with a concentration in Sports Science and Nutrition from the University of Texas in 2006. She has been coaching competitive athletes and assisting individuals reach their fitness goals since 2005. She is a member of the American College of Sports Medicine and stays up-to-date on all of the latest research in the field of exercise physiology. Sara has her level 3 coaching certification from USA Cycling.
Sara is a diverse cyclist, participating in road and mountain bike events. She primarily focuses on mountain biking and competes in cross-country and ultra-endurance events. She is consistently ranked one of the top racers in Texas in both ultra-endurance (including 24 hour solo racing) and cross-country racing, and is ranked in the top 10 in her age category nationally.
In 2007, Sara was invited to be on Austin Mayor Will Wynn's Street Smarts Task Force to make recommendations to the city on improving bicycle access and safety. She was elected chair of the task force and served in that role for over a year. In 2008, Sara was appointed by Mayor Wynn to serve on the city’s Urban Transportation Commission where she became chair of the Bicycle and Pedestrian Subcommittee.
